On the third day of Christmas what was I to suppose my true love gave me Emelyn Rose.

                                     Emelyn Rose Lake

The Twins come to the Lakes.

Sweet Emelyn Rose,

From the very beginning she has been obedient, trying to make things easier on her momma...lining up as she should in the womb, despite her brothers sideway blocking of her path.

Miss Rose (Emme, Rosie) is an ever patient old soul. She seems to know her place in the family and is peaceful and content. She trust she will be attended to and waits her turn without complaint.

She was given the middle name Rose after her two great Grandmothers (Cleone Rose Probert and Rose Lake). I was close with grandma Probert and wanted to always have reason to think of her. I saw her grace and tenderness in her older age.  I was asked by the family to spend a few nights with her at the retirement center while in college (and grandpa was away). We had some tender moments and I felt like even though she couldn't use her voice well, her spirit spoke to me.

It was said of Rose Lake that she found joy in any situation. Leslie remembers someone asking her about cleaning the dishes and she responded something like "it's lovely to be working my hands". Everything was lovely to her.

I should also mention that another dear Grandma is often called Rose, and that connection does not go unnoticed.

Our little Rosie is a helper. She sorts shoes, takes things to the trash, shows you what's in her mouth upon request and does nearly everything I ask...With a smile and look for acknowledgment.  She enjoys making others happy. For a while she let Tal do all the talking (because he would usually voice when they were ready for something: wake up, out of high chairs) but now she has put actual words to things quicker than he and has really started being able to communicate her desires.

She is a bundle of sweetness in its truest form and we are honored to have such a deep soul in our family.

We love you Emelyn

On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me curly hair Taymon the second grand boy highlighted

The Second Day of Christmas Grandkids

                                                                         4/21/12

To capture the spirit or essence of your child in writing to the end that others may see him as you see him. For a mother it is impossible. Impossible to even come close. Yet it is the deepest desire of a mother, for her child to be seen for all that they are; for them to see themselves for all that they are, not just for what others may quickly label them as. Children change daily. They have me in awe daily. And I learn more of their character daily. Things to keep in mind as I share fun things about my sweet little ones:)
   TAYMON MCKAY!
What a bundle of peace and joy this guy is. When he was born not only was his gender a complete surprise, he was his daddy's mini me. Thus the choice in naming. As he has grown, he now resembles is mother quite closely and seems to be quite attached to her as well. Although he is glued to moms side he still loves having his dad around and knows he the best play mate:) His little personality also resembles so much his fathers.
Tay Mac is as sweet and content as they come. He loves to snuggle and rough play and is ticklish like you wouldn't believe. He has the silliest sense of humor and is happiest when those around him are happy. He likes his alone time and doesn't show his silly side to just anyone. He will give you his bashful eyes until he gets to know you well enough. Once he is comfortable he'll give you more hugs and kisses than you could ask for:) He makes me laugh everyday, sometimes all day long! Can't wait to continue watching him grow!! Love my snuggle bug silly goose:)
                    Sincerely,
                His momma- Heather Marie

Taymon is 20 months old and is our baby for the moment.  He is our "ball" guy and super happy guy.  He is just a happy go lucky guy all of the time.  Very protective of his time and space with his mom though.  Beautiful little boy who loves to play with any type of ball.  Knows how to make his brother, sister and parents laugh always.
Taymon is the best 1 year old!

What a cute looking addition to the 2 Probert kids.  We think he is a mommas boy sure looks like his momma.  We tell you the three here are just great for each other.

On the First Day of Christmas my true love gave to me Johnnie boy from the Cook Country.

Johnnie Mahonri Cook

June 3, 2012

From Mom and Dad

We remember the big head of hair. I remember that Jamie would always say he is a carbon of his Papa Steve. Then I saw him and she was right.

He changed the dynamics of the Cook family after two older sisters.  He is a sweetie and goes along with his older sisters activities as they play with him. Give him a truck and he is in heaven. Well what a blessing to have a boy to help calm his sisters and what a great namesake he has special to Steve and Jamie.

From his Momma

Johnnie boy is 18 months old.
He was born with a full head of dark black hair. It was a unique attribute and has since grown much longer, blonder and curlier but his momma never wants to cut it. Not only was his hair the first thing she noticed about him but she fears his curls will e gone once it's cut.

Steve and I have named all of our children after someone and we both loved the name johnnie and his brother johnnie whom he is named after. We hope johnnie boy lives up to his namesake. We also fell in love with mahonri from the scriptures. The brother of Jared. We thought that was a powerful name and also worthy of respect.

I love the song Danny boy and have since changed it and sing johnnie boy in its place so now I sometimes refer to johnnies and johnnie boy.

Johnnie boy loves his family. He loves to just be cuddled and hugged by everyone in his family. He loves to push anything and everything from cars to strollers to all sorts of toys.

He doesn't say much of anything and we are actually taking him to an ear nose and throat doctor this month to see if we can help him with this. He could use some prayers. JOHNNIE responds well to commands which is why the concern might be his ears.

He loves to smile. He also just loves to dance. That kid is something else.

He was born 9 pounds 1 ounce and was in the nicu for a few days. He wanted to just grunt when he was born and it scared us all a little bit.

He loves to scroll through pictures on his mommas phone. He will eat 6 pancakes shoved in his mouth if you let him and will continue to eat.

He loves to squeeze his lips together and hold it like he is a fish or posing like on Zoolander.

Johnnie also just loves to smile and laugh all the time. He has an infectious giggle.

He has to be wherever his momma is. If momma is doing dishes, johnnies wants to be in the same room throwing dishes on the ground or going through the trash.

He is a bundle of energy and love and we call him johnnie boy the baby of the world. What a beautiful blessing and miracle he is and he makes us all smile every day.
